When a candidate doesn’t show up for their scheduled exam, you can mark them as absent directly from the workflow tab. This updates the candidate’s status to No Show, indicating that they did not attend the session. In this article, you will learn how to mark a candidate as absent in Talview’s Center dashboard.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have:
  • Logged in with the appropriate role credentials (Center Admin, Center Manager, Proctor Lead, or Proctor) to reflect that other roles can also perform candidate actions.
  • A center with candidates in a Registered status.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Open the center and navigate to the workflow tab From the Centers list, click on the center. Then click on the relevant workflow tab to view the candidate list for that exam. 2. Locate the candidate Find the candidate you want to mark as absent. You can scroll through the date-grouped list or use the Search (Ctrl+K) bar for windows and (Cmd+K) for Mac to find them by name or email. 3. Open the actions menu Click the three-dot menu (⋯) on the candidate’s row. 4. Click Mark as absent Select Mark as absent from the menu. The candidate’s status will update to No Show.
Additional Tips
  • Mark as absent is only available for candidates whose status allows it. If the option appears greyed out, the candidate may already be checked in or in a completed state.
  • This action is different from Decline booking, declining sends the booking to the exam coordinator for review, while marking as absent directly updates the candidate’s status to No Show.
