Proctor leads and proctors are assigned at different levels to ensure proper oversight during an exam session. A proctor lead is assigned at the slot level from the Capacity tab, they are responsible for overseeing the entire session across all rooms and candidates in that time slot. A proctor is assigned at the individual seat level from the Seat Allocation view, they are responsible for monitoring specific candidates during the exam. In this article, you will learn how to assign both roles in Center dashboard.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have:
  • Logged in with your Center Admin credentials.
  • Opened a center and navigated to the Capacity tab.
  • At least one planning slot created with rooms and seats assigned.

Step-by-Step Guide

Assigning a Proctor Lead

1. Locate the Proctors column From the Capacity tab, find the slot you want to assign a proctor lead to. The Proctors column shows any currently assigned proctor leads as avatars. 2. Click the ”+” icon Click the + icon in the Proctors column for that slot. A dropdown opens showing:
  • Currently assigned proctors at the top, each with a delete (trash) icon to remove them.
  • A search field to find a specific proctor.
  • A list of available proctors below, showing their name and email.
3. Select a proctor lead Click on a proctor’s name from the available list to assign them as a proctor lead for the slot. Their avatar will appear in the Proctors column. You can assign multiple proctor leads to a single slot. 4. Remove a proctor lead (if needed) To remove an assigned proctor lead, click the + icon to open the dropdown, then click the delete (trash) icon next to the proctor you want to remove.

5. Open the Seat Allocation view Click on the slot’s time link (e.g., “4 PM – 6 PM”) to open the Seat Allocation view. 6. Assign a proctor to a seat In the Proctor column, each seat shows either an assigned proctor avatar or is empty. To assign a proctor, click on the Proctor column for the seat you want to assign. Select a proctor from the available list. 7. Remove a seat-level proctor (if needed) To remove a proctor from a seat, click the ”✕” icon on their avatar in the Proctor column. The seat will return to an unassigned state.
Additional Tips
  • You can assign the same proctor to multiple seats within the same room.
  • Use the search field in the proctor dropdown to quickly find a specific proctor by name or email.
  • If a slot shows bookings but no proctors assigned, consider assigning them before the session starts.
