Overview

When you cancel or remove a planning slot from your center, Center Sync removes the corresponding slot from connected partner organizations. This keeps both sides in sync and prevents partners from showing capacity that is no longer available at your center.
Before cancelling a slot, check with your partner organization. If candidates are already booked into that slot on their side, those bookings are not automatically cancelled. The partner organization must manage their own candidate communications and booking changes.

How schedule cancellation works

When you cancel or delete a planning slot:
  1. The slot is removed from your center’s Capacity tab.
  2. Center Sync detects the change and removes the corresponding slot from the partner organization.
  3. The partner organization’s capacity view no longer shows the cancelled slot.
  4. Any candidate bookings that existed within the cancelled slot on the partner side remain in place — they are not automatically cancelled or notified.

Steps to cancel a planning slot

1

Open the Capacity tab

Navigate to the center and click the Capacity tab to view all scheduled slots.
2

Locate the slot

Find the slot you want to cancel. Use the date filters or search to narrow down the list if needed.
3

Delete the slot

Click the trash icon on the right side of the slot row.
4

Confirm cancellation

Confirm the action when prompted. The slot is removed from your center and the sync to partner organizations begins automatically.

Cancelling a recurring schedule

If the slot is part of a recurring schedule, you will typically be asked whether you want to:
  • Cancel this occurrence only — removes a single date from the schedule
  • Cancel this and all future occurrences — ends the recurring schedule from that date forward
  • Cancel the entire schedule — removes all past and future occurrences
The same scope of cancellation is reflected in the partner organization’s copy of the schedule.

Before you cancel: coordination checklist

1

Check partner bookings

Ask your partner organization to check whether any candidates are booked into the slot you are about to cancel. See What is Not Synced — candidate booking data is not visible in your organization’s dashboard.
2

Agree on a candidate communication plan

If bookings exist, work with the partner organization to notify affected candidates and offer rebooking options before you proceed with the cancellation.
3

Cancel the slot

Once both organizations are aligned, proceed with the cancellation. The slot is removed from the partner organization automatically.

Frequently asked questions

No. Cancelling a planning slot on your side does not trigger automatic notifications to candidates booked on the partner side. The partner organization is responsible for communicating any schedule changes to their candidates.
Proctor assignments are not synced and are managed independently by each organization. Removing the slot from the partner’s capacity view does not automatically unassign proctors. The partner team will need to manage their own assignments after the slot is removed.
Yes. You can create a new planning slot with the same configuration. The partner organization will receive a fresh copy of the slot when the sync runs.
Currently, the options are to keep the slot active (synced) or delete it (removed from partner). There is no “pause visibility” option for individual slots. If you need to restrict a slot temporarily, coordinate directly with your partner organization.
