Planning slots let you define recurring exam availability for your center. Using the Recurring availability modal, you can schedule time windows across multiple days for a specific workflow step. In this article, you will learn how to create a planning slot in Talview’s Center dashboard.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have:
  • Logged in with your Center Admin credentials.
  • Opened a center and navigated to the Capacity tab.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Open the Recurring availability modal From the Capacity tab, click the + Planning button at the top right. The Recurring availability modal opens. 2. Enter a schedule name In the Schedule name field, type a name for the schedule. This name will appear as the slot grouping label on the Capacity tab. 3. Select a workflow step Click the Workflow step dropdown and choose the exam type this slot is for (e.g., “Listening-Reading-Writing Session” or “Speaking Session”). This is a required field - each planning slot must be linked to a specific workflow step. 4. Set the date and time Fill in the following fields:
  • Start date - the first date the slot should begin. Click the calendar icon to select a date.
  • Start time - the session start time. Select from the dropdown.
  • End time - the session end time. Select from the dropdown.
The time zone is displayed below the date and time fields (e.g., “Times are in Asia/Kolkata”) to confirm which time zone the slot is being created in. 5. Select recurring days Click on the day buttons (M, T, W, T, F, S, S) to choose which days of the week the slot should repeat on. Selected days appear highlighted. You can select multiple days. 6. Set an end date In the Until field, select the last date the recurring schedule should run until. Click the calendar icon to choose the date. 7. Save the planning slot Click Save to create the recurring slots. The new slots will appear on the Capacity tab, grouped under the schedule name and date. Click Cancel to discard without saving.
Additional Tips
  • The schedule name is used as the grouping label on the Capacity tab (e.g., “Thursday, 18 Jun 2026 - LRW test”), so use a clear and descriptive name.
  • Make sure the start and end times fall within the center’s configured operating hours.
  • After creating a planning slot, you’ll still need to assign rooms and proctors to each slot from the Seat Allocation view.
  • To delete a scheduled slot, use the trash icon on the slot row in the Capacity tab.
