Windows.exe version - 2.0.47 Bug fix: An issue was identified where the Proview launch page was being blocked due to antivirus false positives for Microsoft Defender. This has now been resolved. Note: In some cases, the software may still be flagged as malicious by other antivirus software. If this occurs, you can mark the file as safe to proceed and continue. We are working on reaching out to the antivirus providers to report the false positives.

Features:

Mac OS

  1. Minimise Prevention: The Mac build now automatically maximises the browser window if a candidate attempts to minimise it during a session, keeping the assessment environment in focus throughout.
If the application remains minimized, the test taker is shown a warning message, blocking them from continuing.

Windows OS

  1. Updated Error Warning Messages (Released in Windows Store)
Error and warning messages displayed in the Windows .exe build have been reviewed and updated to be clearer and more accurate for candidates encountering issues during a session.\
  2. Multi-Monitor Detection Logging
The Windows build now captures the number of monitors connected to a candidate’s machine at the time of the session. This data is logged via Sentry and will help the team better understand and respond to multi-monitor usage patterns.\
  3. Multi-Language Text Suggestions Blocked
The Windows .exe build now blocks multi-language text suggestions from appearing during a session, reducing a potential avenue for candidate assistance during assessments.
  4. Virtual Desktop warning messages to the test taker There was an issue with test takers not getting warning messages on the Windows Store build when they switched to a virtual desktop. With this update, test takers will now be blocked and notified with a warning when they attempt to switch from Secure Browser to another virtual desktop.

Feature

Virtual Desktop Detection Enhancements on Windows (Fix for the May 4th Interim update) On the Windows Store build, test takers are now blocked and notified with a warning when they attempt to switch from Secure Browser to another virtual desktop. How this feature works:
If the user switches to a virtual desktop and stays for more than a few seconds, the Secure browser will show a warning and block the user from continuing. To continue, the user will have to close the open virtual desktops, then close and relaunch the Secure browser.
This will happen every time the user switches to a virtual desktop.

Message shown to the user:

Virtual desktop detected
You switched to another window or virtual desktop. Please stay on the Secure Browser throughout your session.
How to resume the session:
  1. Close any other open windows. (Use “three-finger swipe up” on the touchpad to see all open windows and close them)
  2. Close the Secure Browser and relaunch.
  3. Once relaunched, avoid switching to other windows or desktops.

Feature Enhancement

Virtual Desktop Detection Enhancements on Windows (Interim update)
On the Windows Store build, test takers are now notified with a warning when they attempt to switch from Secure Browser to another virtual desktop. This is a interim solution, where the virtual desktop is detected only on 1st launch after installation. We are working on a fix to detect every time the user tries to use Virtual desktop.
Clipboard Clearing on Secure Browser Focus Loss — Windows
Previously, clipboard data was cleared only when exiting or re-entering Secure Browser. With this update, the clipboard is also cleared whenever a test taker switches away from Secure Browser using virtual desktop switching — even while an exam is actively in progress.
