Administrators may sometimes need to adjust exam slots due to schedule changes, room allocation updates, or operational requirements. You can edit an existing slot configuration to update details such as timing, room allocation, or seat availability. This article explains how to edit the configuration of an existing exam slot from the Capacity schedule.

Before You Begin

Make sure that:
  • The slot you want to modify already exists in the Capacity schedule.
  • The slot is not currently in progress or completed, as such slots cannot be edited.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Open the Capacity tab

Navigate to the Capacity tab within the center configuration. This page displays all scheduled exam slots, including their date, time, exam type, room allocation, and seat capacity.

2. Locate the slot you want to edit

Scroll through the Capacity table or use the available filters to find the slot that needs modification. Each row represents a scheduled slot with its associated details.

3. Open the slot options menu

On the right side of the slot row, click the menu (⋯) to open the available actions for that slot.

4. Select the edit option

From the menu, click Edit slot. This opens the slot configuration panel, where you can update the slot details.

5. Modify the required slot details

In the configuration panel, update the fields that need to be changed. Depending on the system configuration, you may be able to update:
  • Exam type
  • Room allocation
  • Seat capacity

6. Review the updated configuration

Before saving, verify that the updated slot details do not conflict with existing schedules, operating hours, or room allocations.

7. Save the updated configuration

Click Save changes to apply the updates. The slot will immediately reflect the new configuration in the Capacity table.

✅ Next steps

After editing the slot configuration, you may want to continue managing the exam schedule:
  • Assign or reassign proctors for the slot.
  • Check candidate bookings associated with the slot.
  • Update seat assignments if room allocation changes.
  • Delete slots that are no longer required.

Additional Tips

  • If candidates are already assigned to a slot, modifying the configuration may affect their seat allocation or scheduling.
  • Avoid changing the slot time if the exam session is already in progress.
  • Review room capacity before updating allocations to prevent overbooking.
  • If significant schedule changes are required, consider creating a new slot and moving candidates instead of modifying the existing slot.
