If you are unable to hear the candidate during a Live interview, this checklist helps you diagnose common microphone, browser, and network issues.

Incorrect speaker selectedOpen system sound settings and choose the correct output device. Disable unused audio devices if needed.
Muted in the Live interviewsCheck the microphone and speaker icons in the session and unmute if required.
Browser audio permission blockedClick the lock icon in the address bar, allow audio access, reload the page, and rejoin the session.
Another app controlling audioClose communication apps and background VoIP services, then restart the browser.
Browser extension interferenceTemporarily disable extensions or open the session in Incognito/Private mode.
Network latency or packet lossMove closer to the router, switch to a wired connection, or change networks.
Router or firewall restrictionsTry a different network or hotspot. Remove strict VoIP or firewall rules if permitted.

Additional tips:

  • Use a dedicated headset for interviews.
  • Keep only one interview tab open at a time.
  • Avoid switching audio devices during the session.
