During onboarding, candidates are required to capture a photo of their face. This image is compared against their base image to verify their identity. Reviewing the face capture lets you confirm that the person taking the exam is who they are expected to be.

Viewing the face capture submission

  1. Scroll to the Candidate Submissions section of the session report.
  2. Click the Face Capture row to expand it. The pass or fail status reflects whether the candidate’s face capture was approved during onboarding, either by the proctor or automatically by the system.
  3. The Session Face Verification section displays two images side by side:
    • Session face capture: photo taken during the session
    • Base image: the face captured the first time the candidate took a proctored exam
Note: Hover over the info icon next to the Session Face Verification label for a brief explanation of what is being compared.
  4. If your exam is configured with face validation, a match status is shown to the right of the images - either Matched or Mismatch - indicating whether the session face capture was verified against the base image.

Additional tips
  • If the status shows Mismatch, cross-reference with the Contributing Incidents section for any related flagged activity.
  • If the candidate has multiple submissions, you can review their previous face capture submissions as well.
