How to publish a form

When you create a form, it starts with a Draft status. It stays in Draft regardless of what changes you make in the Form Editor, until you explicitly publish it. Publishing makes the form live and accessible to respondents. In this article, you’ll learn when the Publish button becomes active and how to publish a form.

Before you begin

• You need to have a form open in the Form Editor with at least one field added. The Publish Form button is disabled when the canvas is empty.

Step-by-step guide

You can publish a form in two ways: right after creating it, or by opening a Draft form from the Forms list at a later time. The publish step is the same in both cases.

A. Publishing a form right after creating it

1. Create a new form Click + New Form from the Forms list, enter a form name, select a form type, and click Create Form. The Form Editor opens with a blank canvas. 2. Build your form Add the fields you need and check that the form looks as expected. Preview the form in both web and mobile view to verify the layout. 3. Click Publish Form At the top right of the Form Editor, click the Publish Form button. A loading spinner appears on the button while the form is being published. 4. Confirm the form is published Once publishing is complete, you’re automatically taken back to the Forms list. The form’s status in the Status column now shows Published in green.

B. Publishing a Draft form later

1. Open the form from the Forms list Locate the Draft form you want to publish and click on it. The Form Editor opens with the form’s existing content. Check that all the fields you need are added and the form looks as expected. Make any changes if needed. Your edits are auto-saved as you work. 3. Click Publish Form At the top right of the Form Editor, click the Publish Form button. A loading spinner appears while the form is being published. 4. Confirm the form is published You’re automatically taken back to the Forms list. The form’s status now shows Published in green.
