Finding that a candidate’s resume fitment or its reasoning is missing can make it harder to assess how well they match the role before diving into a full evaluation. This is usually caused by a configuration setting, a missing resume, or a processing delay on Talview. In this article, you will find the most common causes and fixes to understand why the fitment information isn’t showing and what you can do about it.

🔎 Troubleshooting Common Issues

What Might Be WrongHow to Fix It
Resume fitment isn’t configured for the workflowResume fitment is an optional feature that must be enabled for the organization.
If it hasn’t been configured, it won’t appear for any candidate.
Check with the admin to confirm whether fitment is enabled for this workflow.
The candidate’s resume hasn’t been uploadedResume fitment is generated based on the candidate’s resume.
If no resume has been uploaded, fitment can’t be calculated.
Ask the recruiter to upload the candidate’s resume and check again after a few minutes.
The resume fitment configuration hasn’t been set upFitment is calculated based on the resume fitment configuration set up for the workflow.
If this configuration hasn’t been completed, fitment scores and reasoning won’t be generated for any candidate in that workflow. Reach out to your admin to confirm whether the resume fitment configuration has been set up correctly for this workflow.
The fitment is still being processedAfter a resume is uploaded, fitment may take a few minutes to generate.
Wait a few minutes and refresh your browser by pressing Ctrl + R (Windows) or Command + R (Mac) before checking again.
The resume was uploaded in an unsupported formatFitment can only be generated from resumes uploaded in PDF or DOCX format.
If the resume was uploaded in a different format, ask the recruiter to re-upload it in the correct format.
Only fitment reasoning is missing but the category is visibleThe reasoning may not have been generated fully.
Try refreshing the page. If it still doesn’t appear, reach out to the recruiter to check on the fitment configuration for that workflow.
Additional Tips
  • Resume fitment is system-generated based on the job description associated with the workflow. If the job description is incomplete or too vague, the fitment reasoning may not be detailed enough to be useful, encourage the recruiter to use a thorough job description for better results.
  • If fitment is missing for multiple candidates in the same workflow, it’s likely a workflow-level configuration issue rather than a candidate-specific one. Flag this to the recruiter so they can address it across all affected candidates at once.
  • Even if resume fitment isn’t available, you can still proceed with your evaluation using the candidate’s resume, registration form details, assessment scores, and interview performance.
  • If the issue persists after trying all the steps above, reach out to your admin or recruiter for further assistance.
