Why is the form preview not displaying correctly?

If the form preview on Talview’s Admin platform shows a blank page, a broken layout, or fields that aren’t rendering properly, you won’t be able to verify how the form looks before publishing. This can happen due to browser issues, cached data, or differences between the web and mobile preview. In this article, you’ll find the common causes and steps to get your form preview displaying correctly.

What might be wrong	How to fix it
Your browser is loading a cached version of the preview	Press `Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows)` or `Command + Shift + R (Mac)` to do a hard reload, then click Preview again.
Your browser is outdated or not compatible	The preview works best on the latest versions of Chrome, Edge, or Firefox. Update your browser or switch to a supported one.
The form has unsaved changes	Go back to the editor by clicking Back to editor, wait for the ✓ Saved indicator to appear in the header, and then click Preview again.
The layout looks different in mobile view compared to web view	1. This is expected. The mobile view simulates a narrower screen, so fields stack vertically and the form container is smaller. 2. Toggle the Mobile view tab to return to the web view and compare.
Browser extensions are interfering with the preview	1. Open the Admin platform in an incognito or private browsing window and try previewing again. 2. If it works there, a browser extension may be the cause. Disable extensions one by one to identify it.
A temporary loading error caused the preview to break	Click Back to editor to return to the Form Editor, then click Preview again to reload the preview.

Additional Tips

Always check both the web view and mobile view before publishing. Some layout issues only appear in one view and not the other.
If the preview continues to display incorrectly after trying all the steps above, contact your organisation admin or raise a support request.
