Why is the Publish button disabled?

If the Publish form button appears grayed out or unclickable while you’re working in the Talview Form Editor, it can be confusing, especially when you’re ready to make your form live. This usually happens because certain conditions haven’t been met yet. In this article, you’ll find the most common reasons why this occurs and how to resolve it so you can publish your form successfully.

What Might Be Wrong	How to Fix It
The form canvas is empty with no fields or blocks added.	Add at least one field using the “ /” command or the block picker on the left panel. The Publish form button activates once a field is present.
All previously added fields were deleted from the canvas.	Re-add at least one field to the canvas. The button re-enables automatically.
The form was newly created, and the canvas is still blank.	This is expected. Start adding fields and the button will activate with the first field added.
The page hasn’t fully loaded or there’s a temporary glitch.	Refresh the page with `Ctrl + Shift + R` (Windows) or `Command + Shift + R` (Mac). If the button is still disabled, close and reopen the form from the Forms list.

Additional Tips

The Publish form button is intentionally disabled for empty forms to prevent accidentally publishing a blank form to respondents.
You don’t need to save manually after adding fields, your changes are auto-saved as you work.
If the button remains disabled even after adding fields and refreshing the page, try using a different browser such as Chrome, Edge, or Firefox.
