When you reactivate a suspended assessment, you expect the candidate’s status to automatically return to “Invited”. However, sometimes the status remains unchanged or doesn’t update as expected. This article helps you troubleshoot why a candidate’s assessment status isn’t reverting to “Invited” after you’ve removed the suspension.

🔎Troubleshooting Common Issues

What might be wrongHow to fix it
The candidate already completed the assessment before suspensionCheck the candidate’s evaluation history in their profile.
If they submitted their assessment before the suspension was applied, reactivation won’t change their status back to “Invited.”
You’ll need to reset or reassign the assessment if you want them to retake it.
System sync delay after reactivationWait 5-10 minutes after removing the suspension, then refresh the candidate list.
Status updates may take a few moments to reflect across the system.
If the status still doesn’t update, try logging out and back in.
The workflow stage has progressed beyond the assessmentReview the candidate’s current workflow stage.
If they’ve been moved to a different stage (manually) while suspended, reactivation won’t move them backward.
You’ll need to manually reassign them to the assessment stage.

Additional Tips:

  • Verify you have the necessary permissions to reactivate assessments and modify candidate statuses in your workflow.
  • Check if any automated rules or triggers in your workflow are preventing status changes after reactivation.
  • Contact your Talview administrator if the candidate appears in multiple workflows simultaneously, as this can cause status conflicts.
