Talview’s environment review ensures the integrity of your exam by verifying your surroundings before you begin. If your environment check fails during the pre-check or proctored setup, follow this guide to quickly identify and fix common issues.

✅ Common causes and fixes

What Might Be WrongHow to Fix It
Cluttered desk or roomClear your surroundings of all papers, books, phones, or other unauthorized items before scanning.
Other people visible or audible in the roomMake sure you are alone in a quiet, enclosed space. Close doors and windows to minimize background noise or interruptions.
Incomplete 360° room scanPerform a slow and complete scan of the entire area, including the floor, ceiling, desk, and under the table. Avoid skipping corners.
Poor lighting or unclear video feedUse bright, even lighting so your camera can clearly capture every part of the room. Avoid strong backlight or dark shadows.
System failed to submit scanWeak or unstable internet connection might be the cause. Check your internet connection.
System failed to record or upload the scanRetry the scan. Ensure no pop-up blockers or extensions interfere with Talview’s upload process.
Repeated failure despite following stepsContact Talview Support or your exam administrator for assistance. Include screenshots or short clips of your setup for faster resolution.

Additional Tips

  • Move your camera slowly to capture every corner; incomplete scans are the most common reason for failure.
  • Keep your webcam and microphone active throughout the pre-check process.
  • Do not switch tabs or minimize the browser while scanning.
