During certain assessments or live interviews, you will be required to complete an Environment Check. This step helps ensure that your test environment meets proctoring and security requirements and that the session is conducted in a fair and distraction-free setting. This guide explain what the environment check is and how to complete it successfully.

✅ What is an Environment Check?

An environment check is a verification step where you are asked to show your surroundings using your camera. Before starting the environment check, make sure that:
  • You are in the room where you will complete the assessment or interview
  • There are no unauthorized materials or additional screens nearby.
  • The environment is quiet and well lit
  • If using a secondary device, it is connected successfully using the QR code and verification process

📌 How to complete the Environment Check?

Follow the on-screen instructions shown during your session. 1. Start the Environment Check When prompted, the environment check will begin automatically. Instructions will appear on your screen guiding you through the process. 2. Show Your Surroundings Using your camera, slowly follow steps on your device and show the following.
  • Your desk or workspace
  • The area around your chair
  • The floor and ceiling
  • All walls in the room
Move slowly and clearly so all areas are visible. 3. Follow System Prompts Talview may guide you with on-screen cues or prompts during the scan. Continue until the system confirms that the check is complete. 4. Resume Your Session Once the environment check is completed, you will move to the next system check or return to your assessment or interview.

Important Notes

  • If the environment check is incomplete or unclear, you may be asked to repeat it
  • Interruptions or changes in surroundings during the session may trigger alerts
  • Do not proceed with the assessment unless the environment check is completed successfully

Tips for a Smooth Environment Check

  • Ensure good lighting to avoid dark or unclear video
  • Move your camera slowly to avoid blurred images
  • Do not switch apps, refresh the page, or lock your device during the check
  • Remain in the same room for the entire assessment
