Talview Interview Rooms provide a secure and interactive space for interviews and assessments. While features like CodeJam (for coding tasks) and Whiteboard (for visual problem-solving) are available within the platform, you may also be asked to share your screen when presenting assignments, portfolios, or project work. This guide explains when and how to share your screen effectively.

When Do You Need to Share Your Screen?

You may be asked to share your screen in situations such as:
  • Presenting a portfolio or project work.
  • Walking through a case study or assignment.
  • Delivering a PowerPoint or document-based presentation.
  • Demonstrating external tools or workflows not supported within Talview’s built-in features.

Step-by-Step Guide to Screen Sharing

  1. Join the Interview Session
    • Click the Join Interview link from your invitation.
    • Allow access to your camera and microphone.
  2. Locate the Screen Share Option
    • In the Talview Interview Room, click the Share Screen button.
  3. Choose What to Share You will see three options:
    • Entire Screen – Shares everything on your desktop (use only if required).
    • Window – Shares one application window (e.g., PowerPoint, PDF viewer).
    • Browser Tab – Shares a single tab (useful for online portfolios or web-based content).
  4. Confirm Sharing
    • Click Share to begin.
    • Your interviewer(s) will now see the selected content.
  5. Stop Sharing
    • Once finished, click Stop Sharing from the control bar.

Candidate Checklist Before Sharing

  • Close unrelated tabs, apps, or private documents.
  • Keep only the presentation/assignment materials open.
  • Turn off desktop notifications (emails, messages, pop-ups).
  • Test your presentation file or web link in advance.
  • Use Google Chrome (latest version) for best performance.
