After a live interview is completed, Talview generates a full timestamped transcript of the conversation that took place during the session. This allows evaluators and recruiters to read through exactly what was said without needing to watch the entire recording. In this article, you will learn how to access and use the Transcript tab within Interview Insights.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have:
  • Logged in to Workflow Tools with your Evaluator credentials.
  • Opened the Interview Summary page for a candidate with a completed interview.
  • The transcript has been successfully generated for the session. If the transcript is still processing, the tab will appear but will be in progress stage.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Open the Interview Summary page Navigate to the candidate’s Interview Insights by clicking View in the Recording column on the workflow dashboard. 2. Click on the Transcript tab In the right panel, you’ll see the Transcript tab alongside the Overview and Verification tabs. Click on it.
  • The Transcript tab only appears when a transcript has been successfully generated for the session. If you don’t see it, the transcript may still be processing or was not generated for that session.
3. Read through the timestamped transcript The Transcript tab displays a full text transcript of everything said during the interview, with timestamps shown as offsets from the start of the recording.
  • Use the timestamps to quickly locate specific moments in the conversation. If you want to hear how something was said, you can cross-reference the timestamp with the interview recording in the left panel.
4. Use the transcript alongside the Overview tab The transcript works best as a companion to the AI-generated insights on the Overview tab.
  • If a point in the Strengths, Areas of Improvement, or Key Discussion Points sections needs more context, switch to the Transcript tab to find the exact exchange where that topic came up.
  • This is especially useful when you want to verify the AI-generated summary against what was actually said.

Additional Tips
  • The transcript is generated at the room level and does not include speaker labels, it captures what was said, but does not identify who said it. Use the interview recording for speaker identification when needed.
  • Transcripts are always generated in English, regardless of the language spoken during the interview.
  • If the Interview Insights sections on the Overview tab (such as the summary, strengths, or skill scores) are not appearing, it may be because the transcript has not finished processing. The AI-generated insights depend on the transcript being available first.
  • You can switch freely between the Overview, Transcript, and Verification tabs without losing your place in any of them.
