After submitting an evaluation in Talview’s Workflow Tools, evaluators may need to make changes to their feedback or recommendation decisions. The platform provides flexibility for evaluators to edit their submitted evaluations before final hiring decisions are made, ensuring accurate and thoughtful candidate assessments. In this article, evaluators will learn how to edit a previously submitted evaluation and understand the different recommendation statuses available.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Select the Candidate

  • Log in to Workflow Tools as an Evaluator.
  • Click on the candidate’s name or email address from the Evaluations tab to view and manage their evaluation details.

2. Viewing the evaluation

In the candidate’s interview details side panel,
  • Click on View Evaluation to review and manage the candidate’s feedback.

3. Edit and manage a candidate’s evaluation

  • At the bottom right of the evaluation panel, click the Edit button (represented by a ✏️ icon).
  • This action unlocks modifications to both the detailed feedback text and the recommendation status.

4. Modify Your Evaluation

  • Update the Detailed feedback text field with revised comments or additional observations about the candidate.
  • The feedback should provide comprehensive insights supporting the evaluation decision.

4. Update the Recommendation Status

  • Choose the appropriate recommendation status by clicking one of the four available options:  ✔️Select/ ✖️Turned Down/ ⏸️Hold / 🚫Cancel.
  • Each status reflects a different hiring decision for the candidate.

5. Save your changes

  • After making the necessary edits, click the updated recommendation button to save and resubmit the evaluation.
  • The revised evaluation will replace the previous submission and update the candidate’s status in the workflow.

Understanding Recommendation Statuses:

  • SELECT (displayed with a green background and “✔️” icon) -
    • Indicates that the evaluator recommends advancing the candidate to the next interview stage or extending an offer.
    • This positive recommendation signals that the candidate’s qualifications, technical skills, and cultural fit align well with the position requirements.
  • TURN DOWN (displayed with a red background and “✖️” icon)
    • Indicates that the evaluator does not recommend the candidate for progression.
    • This decision suggests the candidate does not meet the necessary qualifications or requirements for the role.
  • HOLD (displayed with a yellow background and “⏸️” icon)
    • Places the candidate in a reserved state for further consideration.
    • Evaluators use this status when they need additional information, want to compare the candidate with others, or require more time before making a final decision.
  • CANCEL (displayed with a grey background and “🚫” icon)
    • Allows evaluators to exit the editing process without saving any changes made to the evaluation.
    • This returns the evaluation to its previously submitted state.
