Run the Talview Network Speed Test
Access the Speed Test
Visit the Talview Speed Test at https://speed.talview.com to check your internet connection. This test is designed to measure the network speed between your device and Talview’s servers.Start the Test
Click the Start button on the testing tool to begin checking your internet connection. Wait while the system analyzes your network performance.Understanding Your Test Results
After the test finishes, you will see results in four key areas:Ping (Latency)
Ping shows how fast data travels from your device to the server and back. A lower ping means a quicker connection, which is important for a smooth assessment experience.- Recommended: 50ms or lower
- Warning threshold: 30ms
Jitter
Jitter tells you how stable your connection is. Lower jitter means fewer interruptions during your online assessment, helping to ensure better performance.- Recommended: 30ms or lower
Download Speed
Download speed shows how quickly you can receive data from the internet. Ensure this speed is high enough for general online activities and video streaming.- Minimum: 5 Mbps
- Recommended: 5 Mbps or higher for smooth video and real-time interaction
Upload Speed
Upload speed shows how fast you can send data to the internet. Check that this speed is adequate for interactive tasks and data sharing during your assessment.- Minimum: 5 Mbps
- Recommended: 5 Mbps or higher
What the Network Test Checks
When you click Start, Talview’s system automatically tests the following:- Connectivity: Verifies that your device is online and able to connect to Talview’s servers
- Bandwidth: Checks if your internet speed is sufficient for video streaming and real-time interaction
- Latency: Measures how quickly data travels between your device and Talview’s servers
Troubleshooting Failed or Warning Results
If your test shows a warning or failure, follow these steps to improve your connection:- Use a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi if available
- Close apps and tabs that use the internet heavily, such as Zoom, Netflix, or YouTube
- Avoid VPNs, as they may increase latency
- Restart your modem or router before retrying the check
- Sit closer to your Wi-Fi router if you are on wireless
- Avoid public networks for better security and stability
- Ensure no background apps are consuming data if using a mobile hotspot
Understanding Specific Errors
- Connectivity fails: You are not connected to a stable internet source
- Bandwidth is low: You may experience frozen video or delayed audio due to a congested or limited-speed network
- Latency is high: You may face choppy video or audio echo due to data delays
When to Retest
Click Retest if:- You have made any network changes, such as switching to mobile data or a different Wi-Fi network
- You closed apps or restarted your router
- Your initial test showed a warning or failure
