2. Assessment Experience
Q1. Received an Email/SMS for an Assessment on Talview? Not Sure What to Expect? If you have received an email from <[email protected]> or an SMS pertaining to online assessments or a Live Interview, it signifies the initiation of the interview process for the position you have applied for with the company. It is essential to engage in this process to proceed further in the hiring procedure. Talview serves as an advanced online platform for conducting video-proctored online assessments and live interviews. Renowned employers, educational institutions, training agencies, and more rely on Talview to carry out assessments and interviews for talent acquisition, learning exams, certifications, and other related purposes. Q2. What happens if I accidentally close the test window? If you close the browser or tab during your assessment:- Your progress is auto saved up to the last completed question or section.
- You can reopen the test link and continue as long as the allotted time remains.
- For time-bound or single-attempt tests (like Objective, Coding or Ivy interviews), contact your recruiter or test administrator if the session closes unexpectedly.
Q3. Will the timer stop if I get disconnected or lose internet? No. The timer continues to run even if you lose connectivity. You can resume from where you left off after reconnecting, provided your test time hasn’t expired. Make sure you use a stable, uninterrupted internet connection for the duration of the test.
Q4. Can I take breaks during the test or interview? Most assessments are designed to be taken in one sitting. If you need a short break, complete your current section first. The timer will continue running even while you’re away. For longer written or coding assessments, check your instructions — some recruiters may allow section-wise breaks. Q5. What are the different types of assessments I may encounter on Talview?
- Objective Assessments (MCQ/MCA): Multiple-choice or multiple-answer questions with a time limit per question or overall section. Responses auto-save as you progress.
- Asynchronous (Async) Interviews: You’ll record video or audio answers to pre-set questions. Each question has a time limit and allows retries (as defined by the recruiter).
- Ivy AI Interviews: Conducted by Ivy, Talview’s virtual interviewer, who interacts using voice. Your responses are analyzed for communication skills.
- Long-Form / Written Assessments: Require detailed written responses, essays, or case studies. You can type directly in the editor or upload files in supported formats.
- Code Solo (Coding Assessments): Real-time coding tasks using supported programming languages. The in-built compiler auto-saves progress. You can run test cases before submission.
- Documents: PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPT
- Spreadsheets: XLS, XLSX
- Images: JPG, PNG
- Text files: TXT Maximum upload size: 10 MB per file. Always check the on-screen instructions for accepted file types.
- Check your internet connection.
- Ensure the file meets the format and size limits.
- Rename the file (avoid special characters). If the issue continues, refresh the page and try again. If the problem persists, contact Talview Support using the Help option in your test window.
- Ivy records your responses and evaluates key communication traits like fluency, tone, and relevance.
- It ensures fairness by asking identical questions to all candidates.
- Your recordings and insights are securely shared only with authorized recruiters and evaluators.
- Desktop/Laptop: Chrome (recommended), Edge, or Firefox (latest versions)
- Mobile (if allowed): Chrome or Safari Ensure your device has a working camera, microphone, and stable internet before beginning.
3. Proctoring & Permissions
Q1. Is my video or audio being recorded during the assessment? Yes, if the assessment is proctored or involves an AI/Async interview, your camera, microphone, and/or screen may be recorded for integrity verification. Recording starts only after you grant permission. This helps recruiters validate identity and prevent unfair practices. Q2. Why am I being asked to allow camera, microphone, or screen access? These permissions are used only for:- Identity verification and test monitoring
- Proctoring (to ensure fairness and compliance) Talview never accesses personal data or files outside the test environment.
- For Objective or Written assessments: You may proceed if proctoring isn’t mandatory.
- For Async or Ivy interviews: Camera/microphone access is required to continue.
- For Proctored tests: Denying access will block the test start. If you have privacy or hardware concerns, contact your recruiter for alternate arrangements.
4. Data Sharing, Privacy & Security
Q1. What information is shared with the recruiter or employer? Recruiters and evaluators can view:- Your assessment responses, scores, and recordings
- AI evaluation reports (if configured)
- Proctoring footage (video/audio/screen)
- Your personally identifiable information (PII) — name, email, candidate ID, and test logs
- Encrypted at rest and in transit
- Accessible only to authorized users
- Automatically deleted after the retention period defined by your organization Talview does not sell, share, or reuse candidate data for any purpose outside recruitment.
