Hardware Requirements

The following specifications apply to proctoring — adhering to the recommended specs significantly improves stability, performance, and monitoring accuracy.
  • Secondary camera (if enabled). The mobile device streams alongside the primary machine and must stay active for the entire test. Keep it fully charged and on a stable surface to avoid disconnections or jitter.
  • Before the test. Disable VPNs and close bandwidth-heavy background apps — cloud sync, streaming, large downloads.

Software Requirements

Talview’s application runs in modern web browsers or via the Secure Browser (SB). SB is compatible with both Windows and macOS. See Secure Browser for installation, permissions, and update details.
Secure Browser (SB) installation and auto-updates may be blocked by enterprise endpoint protection, antivirus software, or restrictive admin policies on corporate/school-managed devices.
  • Ensure the user has administrator privileges on the machine.
  • Coordinate with internal IT to allow SB installation, update execution, and the domain access listed in Domain Whitelisting.
  • Test on a sample managed device at least 3–5 days before the scheduled test to avoid last-minute disruptions.
