Assumptions

  • The course administrator has the necessary permissions to configure quiz settings within Moodle LMS.
  • Proview proctoring has been installed on the moodle account of the course admin.
  • The administrator is familiar with basic navigation and operations within Moodle LMS.
  • It is assumed that the test taker will launch Proview proctored assessment in a single browser tab. Launching it in multiple tabs can potentially affect the assessment’s smooth operation with redirection issues.

Limitations

  • Short delay in proctoring pre-flight checks: When a student clicks on the “attempt quiz” button, the proctoring pre-flight screens should ideally appear immediately. However, currently, the student can view the first question briefly before the pre-flight screens load. This could compromise exam integrity and lead to content leakage. To mitigate this risk, it is recommended to password-protect proctored quizzes, ensuring that the quiz cannot be accessed without proper authorization, thus preventing the initial question from being visible.
  • Pre-flight checks impact on live proctored assessment’s time: The proctoring pre-flight checks reduce the actual quiz time available to students. To combat this issue, it is suggested to add an additional 30 minutes to the quiz close time. This adjustment ensures that the pre-flight checks do not eat into the quiz duration, providing students with the full allotted time to complete the quiz.
  • iPad not supported: Proview proctoring is not supported on iPad devices. Test takers attempting to take a proctored session on any web browser on their iPad will not be able to do so.
