If your test can’t access your camera or microphone, it usually means Chrome is blocking them. This can stop you from starting the test or being seen/heard during the session.
What Might Be Wrong | What You Can Do |
---|---|
Chrome doesn’t have permission to use camera/mic | Open Chrome Settings > Privacy and Security > Site Settings > Camera/Microphone > Allow access for the test site. |
You clicked “Block” on the browser prompt | Click the “Tune” Icon in the address bar > Set Camera and Microphone to “Allow” > Refresh the page. |
Another app is using the camera/mic | Close apps like Zoom, Teams, Skype, or any background tools using the camera/mic. |
Browser tab isn’t using HTTPS | Make sure the test link begins with https:// . If not, contact support. |
External camera/mic not selected | In Chrome settings, select the correct input devices under the Camera/Microphone dropdowns. |
OS-level permissions are disabled (Mac/Windows) | Go to System Settings (Mac) or Privacy Settings (Windows) and allow Chrome to access camera/mic. |
