What Might Be WrongWhat You Can Do
OS-level privacy settings are blocking accessOn Windows: Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera/Microphone > Allow access for apps and browser.
On Mac: Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera/Microphone > Allow access for Chrome or Safari.
Hardware access is disabled globallyMake sure Camera access and Microphone access toggles are turned ON in system settings.
Using an external device that isn’t selectedIn browser settings, choose the correct external camera/mic from the dropdown.
Other apps are locking the camera/micFully close apps like Zoom, Skype, Teams, OBS, or virtual camera tools.
Device driver issue (Windows only)Update your camera/mic drivers through Device Manager.
Work laptop with IT restrictionsIf using a company-issued laptop, camera/mic access may be restricted by IT policies. Contact your IT administrator to enable camera and microphone access for your browser or test application.
