# Why does my exam look too large, cut off, or blurry on my screen?

If parts of the exam page are cut off, buttons are hidden, or text looks too large or blurry, your display settings are likely the cause. High scaling (for example, 125% or 150%), a low screen resolution, or an extra monitor can stop the exam window from fitting your screen.

This guide helps you adjust your display settings so the exam shows correctly in your browser or in Talview Secure Browser (TSB).

### ✅ Common Causes and Fixes

| **What Might Be Wrong** | **What You Can Do** |
| :- | :- |
| Display scaling is set above 100% (Windows) | Go to **Settings → System → Display → Scale** and choose the **Recommended** option. Restart the browser or Secure Browser. |
| Display is set to "Larger Text" (Mac) | Go to **System Settings → Displays** and select **Default** instead of Larger Text. Restart the browser or Secure Browser. |
| Screen resolution is too low | Set your display resolution to at least **1280 × 720**. Use the **Recommended** resolution if available. |
| Browser zoom is not at 100% | Press **Ctrl + 0** (Windows) or **Cmd + 0** (Mac) to reset the zoom before starting the exam. |
| An external monitor is connected | Disconnect any extra monitors and use a single screen. Multiple monitors are not supported. |
| Settings were changed after the exam opened | Close the browser or Secure Browser completely and open the exam link again so the new settings apply. |
| Still not displaying correctly | Contact support with a screenshot of the issue, your device model, and your display settings. |

### 🛠 Final Check: Before You Start Your Exam

* Scaling is set to **Recommended** (Windows) or **Default** (Mac)
* Resolution is at least **1280 × 720**
* Browser zoom is at **100%**
* Only **one screen** is connected
* The browser or Secure Browser was **restarted** after any change
