# How to Upload a Candidate Resume and Meet File Requirements

When a candidate applies for a job, recruiters can upload their resume directly into a workflow. The system then parses the resume and automatically generates a fitment score based on pre-configured criteria, eliminating the need for manual screening at the top of the funnel.

**Step 2: Let the System Process the Resume**

Once uploaded, the system automatically runs three steps in the background:

1. **Upload** - the file is successfully received
2. **Parse** - the system reads the resume and extracts key information, including:
   * Name, email, contact number, and LinkedIn
   * Education details
   * Work experience
   * Certifications and additional information
3. **Generate fitment** - the extracted details are compared against your configured criteria, and a fitment score with reasoning is produced

> Processing runs in the background. You can close the upload panel and continue other tasks in the workflow, just do not refresh the page until processing is complete.

**Step 3: View the Fitment Results**

Once processing is complete, navigate to:

**Resume Screening step → Candidate Profile → Overview tab → Resume sub-tab**

Here you will find:

* The **fitment label** (Strong Fit, Potential Fit, or Low Fit)
* A **reasoning summary** explaining why the candidate received that score
* The **resume file**, available to view, zoom in/out, and download

You can also view fitment scores directly from the list view in the **Screening** step and apply filters to sort candidates by their fitment label.

<Note>
  **Important Notes**

  * The **5 MB file size limit** applies to each resume.
  * Supported file formats are **PDF (.pdf)**, **DOC (.doc)**, and **DOCX (.docx).**
  * If fitment criteria is not configured before uploading, **no fitment score will be generated.**
  * Fitment criteria can be edited at any time from the **Configure Fitment** option in the workflow.
