# Why are notification messages grouped under the wrong candidate or interviewer?

When messages are grouped under the wrong candidate or interviewer, this can disrupt recruitment workflows, create confusion, and hinder timely follow-ups in Talview’s Notification Inbox.

This article helps recruiters identify the causes and resolve issues when notifications or conversation threads appear under incorrect profiles, ensuring cleaner communication and accurate tracking.

## 🔎 Troubleshooting Common Issues

| :--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | :------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Candidate/interviewer profiles have similar or duplicate email addresses, resulting in thread misalignment | Verify and update candidate/interviewer emails from the workflow's candidate details panel; avoid duplicates. |
| Interviewer/candidate names edited post-scheduling, but notifications still link to original name/email | Double-check name/email fields and request support for notification thread re-mapping if edits were recent |
| Users are responding from shared or alias emails, merging thread associations | Use only assigned, verified emails for responses; disable alias or shared inbox features during event workflow |

  ### **Additional Tips:**

  * Reassign interview notifications by editing candidate or interviewer panel details, then refresh the Notification Inbox to sync updated threads.
  * Check the notification permissions and ensure recruiters are logged in with their dedicated email accounts, shared logins can cause thread mix-ups.
