# How to filter candidates in the Global Candidate View

This article explains how recruiters and master recruiters can filter the Global Candidate View by candidate and workflow details, such as status, source or owner, within Talview's Workflow Tools platform. Filters let you pull out one segment of candidates across all of your workflows.

**Step 1: Open the Candidates page**

* Log in to Workflow Tools as a Recruiter or Master Recruiter.
* In the navigation menu, select Candidates.

**Step 2: Open the filter panel**

* Select the filter option above the candidate list.
* The panel has two sections.
  * Candidate: Status, Resume Fitment, Education, Experience and Source.
  * Workflow: Workflow, Owner and Progress.
* Select a section heading to expand or collapse it.

**Step 3: Choose the values to filter by**

* Select a field, such as Status.
* Select one or more values. Selecting several values in the same field shows candidates who match any of them.

**Step 4: Apply the filters**

* Select Apply Filters.
* The list updates, and the filter control shows how many filters are applied.
* Select Clear All to remove every filter.

The list shows only the candidates who match your filters across your workflows. If no candidate matches, the list shows a message and a Clear Filters button.
