# How to RSVP to an Interview Invite (Yes, no, tentative)

When you receive an interview invitation via email, responding promptly helps maintain clear communication with candidates and keeps your interview schedule organized. Verifying your availability and confirming your attendance through email allows the recruitment team to plan effectively and communicate any necessary details before the interview.

In this article, you'll learn how to check your interview invite details and respond with your availability status, whether you can attend, need to decline, or are tentatively available.

## Step-by-Step Guide

### Locate the Interview Invite Email

Check your inbox for the interview invite email sent by the recruitment team. The email typically includes:

* Interview date and time
* Candidate mail id
* Job position
* RSVP options
* Location or meeting link

### A. RSVP from the email message

* Open the interview invitation email in your inbox and scroll down to review interview details.
  * Click on **“here"** which is a *confirmation link* to **accept your interview invitation**.
* If you need to **reschedule**, there are three options you can choose:
  * Click **Propose new time -** Select **new date and time** to choose a different interview slot.
  * Click **Add availability -** Here, **add interview slot** that you want to repeat weekly, **add override dates** and **mark holidays** to set your interview availability.
  * Click **Decline -** Here, mention the **reason to cancel your scheduled interview** and suggest an alternate interviewer (optional).

### B. RSVP from the ICS file

* Click on **RSVP** in the ICS file column to:

  * ✔️Accept
  * ✖️Decline
  * 👁️‍🗨️Let the organizer/recruiter know that you won’t attend but want to receive information about the meeting.
  * ❓**Tentative** to indicate your interest in the meeting while keeping your schedule flexible.
  * 🕒Propose a new time
  * ↖️RSVP with note to organizer/recruiter
  * ↖️ Reply to organizer/recruiter
  * ↖️ Reply to all attendees
  * ↗️Forward meeting

    ### **Additional Tips**

    * Respond to interview invites within 24 hours to maintain professional communication.
    * Add the interview to your office calendar immediately after confirming attendance.
    * If you selected "Tentative," update your response to "Yes" or "No" as soon as you confirm your availability.
    * Test your technology (camera, microphone, internet connection) before virtual interviews if you've confirmed attendance.
