# How to check face authentication details in Interview Insights

During a Live interview, Talview periodically captures the candidate's face and runs authentication checks to verify their identity. These results are stored within Interview Insights and can be reviewed after the interview is completed.

In this article, you will learn how to access and review the face authentication details for a candidate from the Interview Summary page.

### Before You Begin

Make sure you have:

* Logged in to Workflow Tools with your evaluator credentials.
* Opened the **Interview Summary** page for a candidate with a completed interview.

### Step-by-Step Guide

**1. Open the Verification tab**

* On the Interview Summary page, the right panel has two tabs at the top - **Overview** and **Verification**. Click on the **Verification** tab.
* This tab is dedicated to reviewing the candidate's authentication and compliance check details for the interview session.

**2. Identify the session**

* At the top of the Verification tab, you'll see the **Session ID** for the interview, along with the date of the session.
* If the candidate has been through multiple interview rounds, the captures are identified by their time and date, making it easy to distinguish between them.

**3. Check the Face Authentication status**

Below the Session ID, look for the **Face Authentication** label with a status icon.

* A green **Passed** badge next to the timestamp means the candidate's face was successfully verified against the reference image. The system confirmed that the person attending the interview matched the candidate on record.
* If the authentication has failed, the badge will indicate accordingly, signaling a potential identity mismatch that may require further review.

**4. Review the face capture photo**

Below the status badge, a large face capture photo is displayed. This is the image captured during the authentication check.

* Review this photo to visually confirm the candidate's identity.
* The timestamp next to the photo tells you exactly when during the session this capture was taken (e.g., 4:28 PM | 15 Apr 2026).

**5. Browse the timestamped face capture timeline**

On the left side of the Verification tab, you'll see a vertical timeline of face capture thumbnails taken across all interview rounds (e.g., 4:28 PM, 4:22 PM, 3:58 PM, 2:58 PM).

* Click on any thumbnail to view the full-size capture on the right side of the panel.
* These periodic captures allow you to verify that the same person was present across all interview rounds, not just the most recent one.
* The timeline is arranged in reverse chronological order, with the most recent capture at the top.

**6. Compare against the reference image**

Below the main face capture photo, you'll find the **Reference** section. This shows a face capture from a previous interview session along with its timestamp and date.

* The system uses this reference image to perform cross-session face matching - verifying that the same candidate appeared in both the current and previous interview rounds.
* Compare the reference image visually with the current session captures to confirm consistency across rounds.

**7. Expand or collapse session details**

If the candidate has face captures from multiple sessions, you can expand or collapse each session's details using the arrow icon (∧) next to the session header.

* This keeps the Verification tab organized when reviewing candidates who have gone through several interview rounds.

  **Additional Tips**

  * The face authentication check runs automatically during the interview session. Neither the interviewer nor the candidate needs to trigger it manually.
  * If a candidate's authentication status shows as failed or the face captures look inconsistent, consider discussing this with the recruiting team before finalizing your evaluation. A failed check does not automatically disqualify a candidate, it flags a potential concern that warrants further review.
  * You can switch between the **Overview** and **Verification** tabs at any time without losing your place. Reviewing the authentication details alongside the AI-generated insights gives you a more complete picture of the candidate's interview.
  * The **Authentication** column on the workflow dashboard also shows a quick status (e.g., **Matched**) for each candidate, so you can identify candidates who need a closer look before opening their Interview Insights.
