# How to remove a center from an exam

When a center is no longer required for an exam, you can unlink it from the Centers tab in the Coordinator Console. Removing a center unlinks it from the exam without affecting the center's configuration in your tenant. In this article, you will learn how to remove a center from an exam in the Coordinator Console.

**Before You Begin**

Make sure you have:

* Log in to your Talview account and make sure you have coordinator role access.

### Step-by-Step Guide

**1. Open the exam from the Exams list**

From the Coordinator Console, navigate to the **Exams** section using the left sidebar. Click on the exam you want to manage.

**2. Go to the Centers tab**

Inside the exam, click the **Centers** tab. This displays all centers currently assigned to the exam in a table with the following columns:

* **Center** - the center name and center code.
* **Step** - the assessment step the center is assigned to.
* **Status** - the current status of the center.
* **Location** - the center's physical address, displayed as a clickable link.
* **Contact** - the name and email address of the center contact person.
* **Capacity** - the number of seats available at the center for this exam.
* **Next 14 days distribution** - a visual bar showing the booking distribution across the next 14 days.

**3. Click the Remove Center icon**

In the rightmost column of the row for the center you want to remove, click the **delete icon**. Hovering over the icon shows a **Remove Center** tooltip confirming the action.

  **Additional Tips**

  * Removing a center from an exam only unlinks it from that specific exam - it does not delete the center from your tenant or affect its availability in other exams.
  * The same center can appear multiple times in the Centers tab if it has been assigned to more than one assessment step. Make sure you are removing the correct row - check the **Step** column before clicking the delete icon.
  * If the center has existing candidate bookings, check with your platform administrator before removing it to avoid disrupting scheduled sessions.
