# How to acknowledge an incident in the session recording

Acknowledging an incident confirms that you have reviewed it and consider it valid. This creates a clear record of who reviewed the incident and when, which is useful for audit purposes and for anyone else accessing the session.

  **Additional tips**

  * Acknowledging an incident does not affect the session's integrity outcome, it is a record-keeping action only. The incident remains active and will be included in the recalculation when you submit your review via **Recalculate Risk Index**.
