# How to suspend a candidate

During a session, if a candidate violates exam rules or engages in inappropriate behavior, proctors have the option to **suspend the candidate** directly from the **Candidate Management** view. Suspension temporarily stops the candidate’s exam and flags the case for further review.

***

### Suspending a Candidate

1. Navigate to the **Bookings** page and start the scheduled session.
2. In the **Candidate Management** view, locate the candidate you want to suspend.
3. Click the **menu** next to the candidate’s name.
4. Select **Suspend candidate** from the available options.
5. In the suspension panel:
   * Choose a **reason for suspension** from the available options (e.g., unauthorized materials, communication violation, identity mismatch, etc.).
   * Add any **additional context** if required.
6. Click **Confirm Suspension**.

### What Happens After Suspension

* The candidate’s **status** will be updated to **Suspended**.
* The exam session for that candidate will be **stopped immediately**.
* The action may require **administrator review**, depending on the system workflow.
* The suspension will be **recorded for future reference**, including the reason and any notes added.
