# How to delete seats in a room

You can remove individual seats from a room through the Edit Room panel. This is useful when you need to reduce a room's capacity or remove seats that are no longer in use.

In this article, you will learn how to delete seats from a room in Center dashboard.

***

### Before You Begin

Make sure you have:

* Logged in with your Center Admin credentials.
* Opened a center and navigated to the **Overview** tab.

***

### Step-by-Step Guide

**1. Open the Edit Room panel**

From the **Overview** tab, scroll down to the **Rooms** section. Click on the room you want to edit. The **Edit Room** panel opens, showing the room's **Seat Allocation** table.

**2. Locate the seat you want to remove**

The Seat Allocation table lists all seats in the room with two columns:

* **Seat Name** - the seat identifier.
* **Status** - the current state of the seat (e.g., "Active").

**3. Click the delete icon**

Click the **delete (trash) icon** on the row of the seat you want to remove. The seat is removed immediately - changes are saved automatically.

**4. Close the panel**

Once you're done, click **Cancel** or the "**✕"** icon to close the Edit Room panel. The room's capacity on the Overview tab will update to reflect the new seat count.

  **Additional Tips**

  * Changes are saved automatically, there's no separate save button. Be careful when clicking the delete icon as the seat is removed immediately.
  * Make sure the seat isn't currently assigned to a candidate in an upcoming or active session before removing it.
  * Deleting a seat reduces the room's overall capacity, which may affect slot planning and bookings.
  * You can also remove seats from within the **Seat Allocation view** on the Capacity tab using the trash icon on individual seat rows.
