# How to delete a scheduled exam slot

Administrators may occasionally need to remove a scheduled exam slot due to scheduling changes, operational adjustments, or incorrect slot creation. You can delete an existing slot from the **Capacity** schedule when it is no longer required.

This article explains how to delete an exam slot from the **Capacity** table.

***

### Before You Begin

Make sure that:

* The slot you want to delete exists in the **Capacity** schedule.
* The slot does **not have candidates currently taking the exam**, as such slots cannot be deleted.
* If candidates are assigned to the slot, they may need to be **rescheduled to another slot** before deletion.

**1. Open the Capacity tab**

Navigate to the **Capacity** tab inside the center configuration.

This page displays all scheduled slots along with details such as **date, time, exam type, assigned rooms, and seat capacity**.

**2. Locate the slot you want to delete**

Scroll through the **Capacity table** to find the slot that needs to be removed.

Each row represents a scheduled slot and displays the relevant scheduling details.

**3. Open the slot actions menu**

On the right side of the slot row, click the **menu** to view the available actions for that slot.

**4. Select the delete option**

From the menu, click **Delete slot**.

A confirmation dialog will appear to prevent accidental deletion.

**5. Review the deletion confirmation**

The confirmation modal displays a warning indicating that deleting the slot will permanently remove it from the **Capacity** schedule.

**6. Confirm slot deletion**

Click **Delete slot** to proceed with the deletion.

The slot will be removed from the **Capacity table** and will no longer be available for candidate booking.

  **Additional Tips**

  * Slots with **active or ongoing exam sessions** cannot be deleted.
  * If candidates are already assigned to a slot, you may need to **reschedule or cancel their bookings** before deleting it.
  * Deleting a slot **frees the room capacity** for that time period.
  * Always verify the **slot date, time, and room allocation** before confirming deletion.
