# Why can’t I hear my audio?

If you’re unable to hear instructions or audio prompts during your assessment, the issue is usually related to browser-level audio settings rather than your device volume.

Use the checklist below to quickly identify and resolve common causes.

## ✅Common Causes and Fixes

| What might be wrong | How to fix it |
| :--------------------------------------- | :----------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Browser tab is muted | Right-click the test tab in your browser and select **Unmute site** |
| Audio permission was blocked earlier | Close the tab, reopen the test link, and allow audio when prompted |
| Browser audio is not working | Play audio in another tab (for example, a video site) to confirm browser sound |
| Audio output is routed to another device | Disconnect Bluetooth headphones, HDMI monitors, or external speakers and retry |

## 🌐 Final Check: Can You Hear Now?

After unmuting:

* Reload your Talview assessment link
* Watch for instructions or voice-based system checks
* Make sure **no Bluetooth headphones or HDMI screens** are silently taking over the output

<Tip>
  **Additional tips:**

  * Reload the test page after unmuting the tab to ensure changes take effect.
  * Restart the browser if audio still does not play after fixing settings.
  * Avoid using wireless audio devices during the test, as they may redirect sound output.
  * Ensure no other applications are actively controlling system audio.
