# How to install and position a Secondary Camera?

A secondary camera is your mobile device’s front camera used for monitoring during your exam session. This mobile device will provide an additional angle for proctors, allowing them to have a wider view of your test environment.

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to install and position your secondary camera successfully.

1. A mobile device (smartphone or tablet) to be used as the secondary camera.
2. A stable internet connection.

### Step 1: Preparing Your Secondary Camera

1. **Charge Your Device**: Ensure that the mobile device you are using for the secondary camera is fully charged to avoid interruptions.
2. **Functional Front Camera:** Ensure your mobile device’s front camera is functional

### Step 2: Connecting the Secondary Camera

1. **QR Code Scanning**:
   * During your onboarding, you will see an option to connect your secondary camera using a QR code.
   * Use your secondary device’s camera to scan the QR code.
2. **Check for Permissions**
   * Your default browser will need permissions to access your camera and microphone.

3. **Follow On-Screen Instructions**:
   * Read through the instructions and proceed to the next steps on your mobile device.

### Step 3: Positioning the Secondary Camera

1. **Choose an Optimal Location**:
   * **Wide Angle**: Place the secondary camera in a diagonal position from your test desk. Should not be more than 2 feet apart from your seat.
   * **Avoid Obstruction**: Ensure that no objects or furniture block the camera’s line of sight.
2. **Mounting the Camera**:
   * Use a tripod or a stable surface (like a shelf or table) to position the camera securely.
   * If using a mobile phone holder or a stands, make sure it’s sturdy.
3. **Height and Angle Adjustment**:
   * Position the camera at eye level or slightly above, directing it towards where you will be seated during the test.
   * Tilt the camera downwards slightly to capture your face and immediate surroundings.

### Step 4: Verify Connectivity

1. Ensure that both the primary and secondary devices remain connected to the internet throughout your test.
2. Run a quick internet speed test to confirm a stable connection is maintained.
