# Why does it say my camera streaming has stopped?

If you see a message saying your camera streaming has stopped during a proctored session on Talview, it usually means the connection to your secondary device's camera was interrupted - either because you stopped it yourself or because of a connection issue. In this article, you'll find the most common causes and fixes to get your camera streaming back up.

#### 🔎 Troubleshooting Common Issues

| **What Might Be Wrong** | **How to Fix It** |
| ---------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| You manually stopped the stream | If you clicked the recording button to pause your camera streaming, this is expected. Click the same button again to resume - the stream should reconnect right away. |
| Your device lost its network connection | Check that your smartphone or tablet is still connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data. If the connection dropped, reconnect to a stable network and click the recording button to restart the stream. |
| The secondary device went to sleep or the browser tab was closed | Make sure your secondary device's screen is still on and the browser tab running the session hasn't been closed or minimized for too long. Reopen it and reconnect if needed. |
| Camera permission was revoked or blocked | Check your device's camera permissions for the browser you're using. If access was turned off, re-enable it in your device settings and refresh the page. |
| Low battery triggered a device restriction | Some devices restrict camera access when the battery is critically low. Plug in your device and try reconnecting the stream. |

<Tip>
  **Additional Tips**

  * The **"Camera streaming stopped"** message clears automatically once the stream reconnects successfully, you don't need to refresh the page.
  * If you didn't intentionally stop the stream and it keeps disconnecting, this is likely a network or device issue rather than something wrong with the button itself.
  * Keep your secondary device plugged in and on a stable network throughout the session to avoid unexpected disconnections.
