# Why can't I hear Ivy clearly during the call?

If Ivy's voice, Talview's AI Interviewer, sounds muffled, delayed, or keeps cutting out during your call, this is usually caused by a weak network signal or a handset setting rather than an issue with the call itself.

In this article, you will identify the likely cause of the audio quality issue and take the appropriate steps to resolve it.

#### 🔎 Troubleshooting Common Issues

| A weak network signal is affecting call quality               | Move to an area with a stronger network signal.                                                                                       |
| Your phone's audio settings are affecting clarity             | Increase your phone volume and turn off speaker mode if the audio is unclear.                                                         |
| A headset or earphones are causing the issue                  | Remove any headset or earphones that may be causing the issue, and use the handset directly.                                          |
| The audio was too poor to continue and you disconnected early | Ivy will automatically call you again, up to 3 more times.<br />Note that if you stay on the line without speaking, no retry is made. |
