# How to manage recording settings in a Live Interview? 

This article explains how candidates can manage, allow, or stop recording during a Live Interview on the Talview Platform. You can control your recording preferences at any time, and the platform displays a clear indicator showing whether recording is active.

## Prerequisites

* You must be logged in and inside the **Live Interview Room**.
* Your browser permissions for camera and microphone must be enabled.

### **Recording Indicator**

When recording is active, you will see:

* A **red recording indicator** at the top.
* A message: **“This interview is being recorded. I don’t want to be recorded.”**

When recording is inactive:

* The indicator turns **white**.
* Message updates to: **“This interview is not being recorded.”**

### **Steps to Opt Out of Recording**

1. Click **“I don’t want to be recorded.”**
2. The system immediately stops the recording.
3. The indicator turns white to confirm that recording is no longer active.

### **Steps to Enable Recording Again**

You can re-enable recording in two ways:

**Option 1: Direct Consent**

1. When a consent prompt appears, click **“I consent.”**

**Option 2: Respond to Interviewer Request**

1. The interviewer clicks **“Request consent.”**
2. A prompt appears on your screen.
3. Click **“I consent”** to allow recording.

Once enabled, the indicator turns red with the message: **“This interview is being recorded.”**

  ### **Additional Notes**

  * You may change your recording preference at any time.
  * Once you decline recording, the interviewer cannot resume recording unless you provide consent.
  * Recording behavior may differ depending on regional compliance requirements.
