# How to take a Proctored Objective Assessment on Web

This article provides a comprehensive guide for candidates preparing to take a **proctored objective assessment using Talview's platform.**

Proctored assessments are designed to maintain the integrity of the testing process, ensuring that candidates complete their assessments honestly and fairly.

### What is an Objective Assessment?

An objective assessment can include **multiple-choice questions, true/false questions, and fill-in-the-blank formats.** The primary goal of an objective assessment is to ensure fairness and impartiality in evaluating candidates, as the scoring is based solely on the correctness of the responses.

### Prerequisites

Before beginning your assessment, ensure you have the following:

* A **stable** internet connection.
* A computer or laptop with a **working webcam and microphone.**
* Supported web browser (Google Chrome is recommended).
* A **quiet, well-lit environment** free from distractions.
* A **valid** ID card for identity verification.

**Step 1: Access the Assessment Link**

* You will receive an email with a link to access the assessment.
* Click on this link, this will redirect you to the **Talview assessment portal.**
* Enter the **confirmation code** sent to your email.

**Step 2: Identity Verification**

* Open **Talview assessment portal** and **log in** using your credentials.
* You will need to verify your identity. This typically involves:
  * Taking a **photo of yourself.**
  * Taking a **photo of your ID.**

**Step 3: Camera, Microphone and Environment Check**

* The system will check if your **webcam and microphone** are functioning correctly. Make sure that:
  * Your camera is clear, capturing your face.
  * Your microphone is working, allowing for audio input.
* Enable **Secondary device**
* Make sure your Test environment is clear and ready for the **Environment check**

**Step 4: Begin the Assessment**

* Once your identity is verified, and the camera and microphone checks are complete, you can **start your assessment.**
* Read the instructions provided before starting and familiarize yourself with the format of the questions.
