# How to take a Long form Assessment on Web

This article provides a comprehensive guide for candidates on how to take a **proctored Longform assessment online using Talview’s proctoring platform.**  Proctored assessments ensure the integrity of the test by monitoring candidates during their assessments.

### What is a Longform Assessment?

A Longform Assessment is a comprehensive evaluation that requires candidates to respond to a series of open-ended questions or problems, allowing for deeper engagement and critical thinking. Unlike traditional multiple-choice tests, Longform Assessments often require candidates to **write essays, solve complex problems, or present arguments on specific topics.**

### Prerequisites

Before starting the assessment, ensure that you meet the following requirements:

* A **stable** internet connection.
* A device (computer or laptop) with a **webcam and microphone.**
* Google Chrome or Firefox browser installed and updated.
* A quiet, well-lit space **free from distractions.**

### Steps to take a Proctored Longform Assessment (Web)

**Step 1: Access the Assessment Link**

* You will receive a mail with a link to access the assessment.
* Click on this link, this will redirect you to the **Talview assessment portal.**
* Enter your mail id and enter the **confirmation code**, sent to your email.

**Step 2: System Requirements Check**

Before starting the assessment, perform a **system check:**

* Talview will prompt you to verify that your device meets the necessary requirements.
* Ensure your webcam and microphone are enabled and functioning, as these will be used during the proctoring process.
* Follow any prompts to resolve issues if your device does not meet the requirements.

**Step 3: Read the Instructions**

* Prior to commencing the assessment, read all provided instructions carefully.
* Familiarize yourself with the assessment format, timing, and any guidelines related to proctoring.
