# How to edit a form after it has been created

After creating a form, you can open it at any time to make changes to its fields or settings. In this article, you'll learn how to open an existing form from the Forms list, make edits in the Form Editor, and confirm your changes are saved.

***

### Step-by-step guide

**1. Find the form you want to edit**

In the Forms list, locate the form you want to edit. You can scroll through the table, use the **Search** bar, or apply **Filters** to find it.

**2. Click on the form**

Click on the form's name in the table. The Form Editor opens with the form's existing content on the canvas.

**3. Make your changes**

Add, edit, or remove fields as needed. You can also update the form's appearance or settings. As you work, the save indicator in the header shows **"Saving..."** and then **"✓ Saved"** to confirm your changes are saved automatically.

**4. Publish or continue editing**

If your form is still in **Draft** and you're ready to make it live, click the **Publish Form** button at the top right. You'll be automatically taken back to the *Forms list* and the form's status will change to **Published**.

> For more details, refer to *How to publish a form*.

If you're not ready to publish yet, you can continue editing or return to the Forms list. Your changes are already saved.

**5. Return to the Forms list**

When you're done, click the **←** (back arrow) at the top left corner next to the form title. You're taken back to the Forms list, and the form's **Updated On** and **Updated By** columns reflect your latest changes.

  **Additional Tips**

  * You can edit both Draft and Published forms. If you edit a Published form, your changes are saved and reflected immediately to respondents.
  * You don't need to manually save. The editor auto-saves as you work. Wait for the **✓ Saved** indicator before leaving the editor to make sure your latest changes are captured.
